Thomas Malphrus is an Emmy-nominated photojournalist from South Carolina. A native of Charleston, SC, Thomas grew up in South Carolina and Maryland. He majored in communications at Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina. He shot, directed, produced and even starred in several productions throughout college.

After earning his degree, he was hired at ABC affiliate, WCIV, in Charleston, where he has been a videographer in many capacities for more than a decade. Because of his background in news, he is able to capture moments most people may miss, all while keeping a low profile and not interfering with the action.

Thomas resides in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina with his wife, Becky, and two children, Gabi and Tripp. He has two Maltese dogs, Lola and Oliver.
